ABOUT ME

The difficult thing about being a journalist is that when the time comes to talk about yourself, it's quite an unusual thing to do. The reason I pursued journalism to begin with was because of my fascination with human beings, our ability to be fundamentally the same, yet so different. I grew up in a small town on Long Island, but my parents tried to travel with us as much as possible so as to not raise us in a sheltered environment. I initially wanted to be a sports reporter, which lead me to attend Syracuse University for Broadcast and Digital Journalism. There, I joined a radio station before ever getting in front of the camera, and simply fell in love with both the music and the conversations. From there, I ended up writing feature articles for magazines, hosting my own late night talk show, and then pursuing a second degree in Political Science to become a political reporter. After 4 years of professional growth and experimentation, I finally realized that my true passion is people. Everyone has a story to tell, whether it is a teenage self-made billionaire, a professional athlete, a stay-at-home mother of 3, or a survivor of a mass shooting. Empathy is what makes me a great journalist, the rest of my skills just help to translate the story. I hope to inform, entertain - and most importantly, learn something new along the way.

MY WORK

Over the years, I have been fortunate enough to report across numerous media platforms. I have been in front of the camera, in the directors booth, behind the microphone, and on the keyboard. With that in mind, I've provided samples of some on-air work, as well as a feature article I wrote while working for a magazine. If you're interested in seeing more of my work, please feel free to reach out to me via my contact information on the site. I hope you enjoy these samples!

CORTLAND MAN TESTS AGE IN INTENSE RACE

I had the chance to interview Lee Boreland, a 50 year old Cortland native, who was training for his second Spartan Sprint race. This competition spans across 3.5 miles and through over 20 different obstacles.

"WTF DO WE DO AFTER THE BIG G?"

For seniors in college, "graduation" has become a dirty word. Do I get a job right away? Go straight to graduate school? These are just some of the most common questions asked as the big day approaches. I spoke with 4 seniors at Syracuse University who plan to switch out a desk job for a dashboard following graduation.
